Optimist Brain Bowl

Last Friday is where the journey began. My Knowledge bowl team( Michael ,Madeleine , and Cloud) and the 8th grade team got into the school suburban and headed for Denver where we'd spend the night and go to compete the next day. when we walked in to the opening ceremony I was amazed to see how many people were there. our first match was against a school in Colorado Springs. We won by two. Who went on two the finals was determined by the points you score in for rounds plus a written test. After our first round victory we headed to the cafeteria to take our written test and it turns out that we only missed one question on a forty point test. The round after that one was our first taste of defeat. long story short we lost by 7, but it was almost a good comeback. We were down by 12 at one point and closed the gap to 3, then they exploded and got the final for questions. We won the next one by 4 and then faced Littleton, they were undefeated coming and trust me they kept that title easily. In fifteen question it was 12 to 3 them. We kept getting clobbered for about 6 more questions. Then and there it was 14 to 7. We made the best almost comeback of the century and ended up losing by 4. It turns out that we didn' make the finals we got tenth place and were seven points from the finals.
